An open letter to Mike Klein mostly...

... and maybe Tommy, but mostly Mike.

Dear Mike (mostly) and maybe Tommy, but mostly Mike,

I just wanted to apologize in advance.

It's never an easy thing to wake up the next morning, stinking of booze and reeking of sweat, burnt tires and charcoal. And when you wander to the bathroom in your RV and discover that your face looks like one of them graffitti-Picasso painting things, you might begin to wonder why you even made the trek with a bunch of men, in RV's, to a field near a NASCAR track.

So, on behalf of everyone, We're sorry. It was not Bob Weil's idea. Or Ricks. I think it was Franklin's. Mostly Franklins, but that's only because Brother Alex can't come this year.

His girlfriend has him by the balls so he's got to go to one of them there tropical countries and whatnot.

Take solace in the fact that cameras, flips, and such are pretty much forbidden and they get broken if you pull some out. I know this might be hard for some of us, since we need to turbocharge our ihearting of radio and stuff, but it is what it is, I guess.

And bring some sharpies. Or some no-doze. Or some other stuff to keep yourself awake. And bring some soap. And some towels. Trust me on the soap thing.

But whatever you do, don't fall asleep with your shoes on.

So, in closing, Mike Klein, I'm sorry. I know you don't like to be in your market on the weekends, and I can't wait to see you, but you might start to think that your home market isn't such a bad place since no one there draws stuff on your chin, or cheek, which might resemble certain manparts. And I apologize to Tommy, but, mostly Mike, because drawing on Mike's chin is more funny than drawing on Tommy.

Besides, he's like a pretty big PD now at a big station, and we don't want him to get into any trouble.

Anyway, here's to friends, who do what we all mutually love, spending some time away, recreating and enjoying life, having fun and living this life we've been allowed to have. I hope that you all get the chance to do what we get to do... and to the people who let me in back in the day a few years ago, thank you...

And here's to another great race weekend, Gentlemen!
