AMERICAN IDOL CONTESTANT RELEASES SINGLE

“FRIDAY I’LL BE OVER U” OCTOBER 5

New York, NY – America Idol Season 8 contestant Allison Iraheta is set to release her debut album on 19 Recordings / Jive Records December 1. “Friday I'll Be Over U” the first single from her as yet untitled album, debuts on AOL Music (click here for music) at 11:00 AM ET/ 8:00 AM PT on Monday, October 5. The infectious pop rock song was written and produced by Swedish hitmaker Max Martin. “Friday I'll Be Over U” goes to radio Tuesday, October 6, and will be available for download on iTunes Tuesday, October 20.

Among the producers and writers on the forthcoming album are Max Martin (Britney, Pink, Kelly Clarkson), Howard Benson (Papa Roach, All American Rejects, Three Days Grace) and Kevin Rudolf (Lil Wayne, Cobra Starship).

Seventeen year old Southern California native Allison Iraheta made it to the Top 4 of the recently completed Season 8 of the FOX TV sensation American Idol. The vibrantly red-haired rocker was the youngest contestant ever (age 16) to make it into the Top 12. She had aspired to be on American Idol since its debut in 2002 when she was only 9. Early in the season Allison Iraheta caught the attention of Idol judges, with Kara DioGuardi commenting, "keep your eye on that girl!" One of her defining moments on the show was her performance of the heart-wrenching Bonnie Raitt classic "I Can't Make You Love Me" in the Top 8 round of performances.

Allison recently finished up the American Idols Live! Tour 2009 and is putting the final touches on her album.
