Support these people... Imagination Stage!

These guys are great. I was turned on to them by my Disney Legislative Affairs friend Jessica, and Kyla and I went to see Zomo the Rabbit there.

I became a fan for life.

But like all things right now, they're in need of some fundraising, so they pulled out a huge gun...

... and got FLOTUS Michelle Obama to serve as honorary chair!

If you can, you should check them out and consider helping them out. They're an amazing organization powered by an amazing group of people, actors and more...

Imagination Stage is thrilled to announce that First Lady Michelle Obama is serving as Honorary Chair of Imagination Stage's upcoming Gala on October 24, 2009. Bonnie Fogel, Founder/Executive Director says "we are grateful for the support of Mrs. Obama during this, our 30th anniversary year. She and the President are vocal proponents of the importance of arts education in nurturing the creative thinkers the United States will need to lead in the future."

The Gala, titled "Once Upon a Time...Into the Future" is Imagination Stage's only fundraising event of the year. It is chaired by Jean-Marie Fernandez, Shari Kapelina and Anna Marie Parisi-Trone and has a fundraising goal of $250,000. The funds are used to support Imagination Stage's theatre and arts education programs. The evening, which starts at 6:30, includes a silent auction, a one-hour performance of an original musical show created especially for the evening featuring professional actors and Imagination Stage students and a celebratory buffet supper, courtesy of Ridgewells Catering.

Imagination Stage, the region's leading theatre arts organization dedicated to children, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Its mission is to produce theatre and arts education programs which nurture, challenge, and empower young people of all abilities. Imagination Stage envisions a future where theatre experiences are a fundamental aspect of children's lives, nourishing their creative spirit, inspiring them to embrace the complexity and diversity of their world and helping them overcome their challenges with hope, courage and, above all, creativity.
