Awwwwwww yeah...
Washington, D.C. – In July they rolled through the City of Brotherly Love at the East Coast Derby Extravaganza.
August took them to Maine, where they went head-to-head with Portland’s Port Authorities. September will
finally bring the DC Rollergirls home to the DC Armory to kick off their fourth season.
After winning last season’s League Championship, the DC DemonCats will immediately have to defend their title
against two-time champions Scare Force One in the first bout of the fourth season. The season opener will take
place Sunday, September 27, at the D.C. Armory. Doors will open at 3 p.m. and the action will begin at 4 p.m.
This may be the DC Rollergirls’ fourth season, but for many on the league, it will be their first. This season, 10
new players will grace the rosters of the DC Rollergirls’ home teams, distributed across the DC DemonCats, Scare
Force One and the Cherry Blossom Bombshells. Ivana Tripabitch, Velocity Raptor and Dyke Diggler are just a
few of the new faces you can expect to see blocking, bruising, and skating their hearts out in their first Armory
bout. And DC Rollergirl favorites like Guantanamo Babe, Condoleezza Slice and ShREDica will continue to be
forces to reckon with on the Armory floor.
The action kicks off with an expo bout, with our own Cherry Blossom Bombshells going toe-stop to toe-stop with
the Wilmington Ruff Rollers of Wilmington, Del. Half-time will feature D-Block Crew, the award-winning step
team from Dominion High School in Sterling, Va.
Tickets are just $12 for ages 12 and up, $6 for children 6 to 11 and free for kids 5 and under. They are available in
advance through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) or at the door on bout day. Individuals with a valid
military I.D. receive admission for only $10 at the door.
The D.C. Armory is located at 2001 East Capitol Street, SE, in Washington. Secure lot parking is available for $7.
In addition, the Armory is adjacent to the Stadium-Armory Metro Station on the Blue and Orange lines.
